Poem Commentary

My first poem to submit so far. Please tell me what you think. No matter what that might be.

conscience-stricken

my only fear is to be feared
to walk the streets with no one near
i see it in your painful eyes
the way they flicker
you cannot hide
the revulsion, the hate
in shadows i wait
to pounce upon my waiting mate
to you its a game, for me a test
our thoughts are different, varied at best
with nothing to hope for
with no one to love
im waiting desperately
he, who's above
where are you now?
i've waited so long
is this your game? and i your pawn?
what were you thinking? why so cruel?
have you lived this life? have you swam this pool?
its seems unfair, but here i wait
im not a quitter...thats not my fate

This was really good. You have a way with words. Love the way it all fits together. The way it was written was also really good.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
