Clown's Smile

Clown's Smile

I know why clowns smile,
The big top full of people,
The sound of children's laughter,
The ooo's and ahh's of the crowd,
The sound of elephants trumpet,
The squeeze of powdered hands on a wooden wrung,
The smell of hot peanuts and pop corn,
The sound of thundering hooves on a dirt floor,
The calliope blasting out a tune,
The chance to once again make 'em laugh!

This poem reminds me of childhood. The excitment of it all. The imagery of hot peanuts and pop corn bring back so many good memories for me. Nice work.

I like clowns, this is a very nice tribute to them. They do their best to make us smile don't they. :) Kool
