Clouds and Grass...

Clouds and Grass...

Clouds and Grass...

Reaching for an imaginary star,

Grasping its living twinkle,

Holding it gently in my palm.

Whispering an insecure dream,

Blowing it back to the universe.

Hope for brilliant vision,

Hope for my honest truth.

Touching me in deep places,

That plain brilliant conversation.

The years fade with connection-

That special place in our heart,

Both filled with the other:

Hold all past in my throat,

Hold all future in my mouth.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
