Christmas Tangled & Blue

Christmas Tangled & Blue

Christmas Tangled & Blue

I’m shaking out Christmas

Getting tangled lights on the tree.

Got wound-up really tight tonight…

Hey! Play that Cell, its Free.

So what am I thinking?

Just another night, Friday night

Alone again lonely, what the heck…

Wishing a lovely lady’s kissing,

Nibbling my earlobe and neck.

I’m shaking out Christmas

See the blinking lights on the tree.

Remind me to give you a howler…

The bar opens at three.

So what am I thinking?

Ignoring demons, they try to tempt me.

Feeling a void…now filling an empty…

Pain dies away by the end of the bottle

What life is left, try not to throttle.

I’m shaking out Christmas

Ghosts appear from the past.

Remember her, I should forget her?

Flip out the phone, dialing in haste.

So what am I thinking?

Snap it close, what a terrible waste.

You’re such an idiot, what would you say?

She’d be with kids now, and that other man.

Time to move on, time to sing another song.

Is this your first poem ever? Rather nice either way. I like the pic as well. O come all yye faithful to my neck of the woods. View my wimpy attempt at following in Walt Whitman's footsteps.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
