Child's Play
First play was just for feet and handsSecond came the realization of the tiny little fingers which grab and move
Third were those toes wiggling with a funny tiny tickle
Speechless voice a sudden sound, echoes within the ears
Eyes that brighten the darkness of those shadows lurking about
All familiar sounds, soon overtaken by the feel of real
New colors to see with, rainbow's to climb upon
Short legs kick then crawl, small arms to stretch the bend
Baby bouncing, chair swinging tales, youthful laughter of child's play
