BUT STILL WE BLAME

BUT STILL WE BLAME
we went from shackle to handcuff from living bad to living ruff
from being made, to volunteering to sit on the back of the bus
BUT STILL WE BLAME
we went from plantation to project from picking cotton to welfare check from share cropping to credit debt
BUT STILL WE BLAME
we went from sneaking to be schooled to being smart ain't cool
from having a dream to serving and becoming fiends
from it takes a village to raise a child to let your kids running buck wild BUT STILL WE BLAME
why cant we go from plantation to salvationfrom living ruff to having more than enough from serving fiend to caring about another human being ill tell you why and its a dam shame so simple it cause we blame

I love this poem... very true and well written.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
