Broken

Broken

Candy coated promises
are yesterday’s disease
Allure of turquoise paper
and dirt upon her knees.

Camouflaged love of lies
truth is such a waste,
His ink infects her smile
tattooed across her face.

She's a pretty little girl
whose stars refuse to shine,
October's falling leaves
dead branches over time.

Summer tells her secrets
of who she used to be,
Flashing back memories
too far away to see.

Wasted on a corner
her most beautiful decay,
Bruised by who she is
monkeys don’t obey.

She answers to an ugly rock
a vicious little stone,
Drowning in the deepest streets
broken Crystal cries alone.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
