    Broken Wings

Everything I worked for vanished in the blink of an eye.. everything i hoped for i realized after you walked out the door.  my life, lessons all born through wisdom and carelessness.. my dreams my hopes rest heavily on my shoulders and I collapse.. the rain comes and washes the weight away and i'm swept down a river lookin and searching.. i catch myself holding on tight to a broken tree and there i see its life was also broken... my dreams and hopes seek light in a new day and the weight of the world will lift and i will once again be born and my lessons will once again be learned.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
