Poem Commentary

Her eyes could steal the moonlight from the sky

BRIGHT GREEN EYES

Bright Green Eyes

There are stars shining in the sky.
Burning as bright as your green eyes.
The night is so calm and warm.
Your smile protects me from the storm.

And the trees are dancing in the wind.
Swaying to the song I hear in the air.
Takes us back to wear it all begins.
Sighing softly and brushing back your hair.

And a love, wasted thru all the years.
The empty skies and space is what I fear.
And your dreams colored us with hope.
When its black and white its much harder to cope.

Just stay strong and the sun shall rise.
Higher and higher, each and everyday.
My princess, wipe the rain from your eyes.
Welcome my love and believe what I say.

Maybe I can't move the earth but baby I won't lie.
And maybe I won't part the seas but I can dry your crying eyes.
Maybe I can't change the past but if you let me try.
I'll bring back the color, that’s missing in your bright green eyes

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
