    Blending Realities

    I am not sure anymore

    where my fantasies end

    and my memories pick up

    because since you showed up

    bringing with you

    the brush

    of your sweet kisses,

    you have blurred and blended

    those sharp edges

    left me in wonder

    re-sculpting

    all my secret wishes,

    my young girls' dreams

    my mundane realities

    you’ve rewritten my story

    with your poetry,

    your easy magic

    into this fairy tale

    I now live with you

    you’ve reframed my views,

my brown eyes seeing for the first time

deeply, through the glow of your green,

    changed everything

    created an amazing living thing

    this love's growing miracle

    this happily-ever-after hope

something I always ached for but

until you, until now, always lived without

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
