    Beating of A Heart

    Forlorned in the quietness of night
    I helplessly sit in my old office chair without light.
    For in a few stolen hours from self pity and pain;
    I am no less, comfortably contained.
    My ruling days are long and lonely
    Because I am in thought of you and you only.
    I say to myself, "Don't be thinking of him".
    This has to be just a driving, unexplainable, mental whim.
    But when I think of days without you;
    It's an unavoidable, shameful, absolute must.
    Quickly I then realize, thoughts of your warm beating heart
    Are merely unconventional feelings of deep rooted lust.

    If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
