    I can see clearly now,
these blood filled eyes are as wide open as your tear filled heart.
I'm alive on the outside and undead within,
I may be broken but don't fix me,
I may be hurting but don't help me,
I may hold you but don't love me,
    I am everything you hate.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
