    BABY

As I sit here holdin’ my Baby

    I wonder what she’s thinkin’

She turns her head at the

    Sights, at the smells

and the sounds that startle her soul.

    She giggles and coos

    when I make silly sounds,

    then screams like a siren

    just the same.

    I show her my love

    with hugs and kisses alike.

She shows me her love with

    Giglles,

    Cuddles

    &

    Drool.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
