Awakened
You reach for me, the tips of your
calloused fingers brush my
wet
cheek and in the dim light I
notice that your nails are
ragged.
I don’t have to
wonder why.
Leaning into your warmth my
eyes drift shut and I simply
feel you. All of you.
Under you is
the only home I need.
Slowly I lead your
broken hand (heart)
to my chest. Maybe the frail flutter
of mine will give yours life
again. In the moonlight you
breathe my name,
exhalted.
And to my tingling ears it sounds
like a word that I could
love.
This is power.
You brush my loose hair
from my face and
gently kiss my
mouth.
The delicate pressure of your
desire for me
feels like comfort.
As the burning of my innocence
subsides I feel your strength and
your yearning soul.
In the veiling darkness we make
beautiful noises together.
