    Autumn's Fall

The chill in the air the decaying scent all round that is the falling, dying leaves last refrain
eternal cleansing of the old, summer into fall, the noreaster wind so cold, the tread mark left bare and heavy on the soul
brutal breath that bites so deep, visions of life's grandeur fallen now forever the frosty ground to keep

to savor the feel,to remember, no regret for it is the doom of man that he shall forever, eternally forget...

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
