    An Ode To The Media

    AN ODE TO THE MEDI A

    Glory to the gallant, courageous, swordsmen

    Of sharp, lightening-swift, thunder-bolt pen,

    Enlightening with the spark of truthful word

    Chambers that, otherwise, remain dim, unheard;

    Bringing the guilty to the people’s fair court;

    Standing firm, guarding the hamlet and the fort

    Of the true trust your missions tacitly entail;

    May the torch of enquiry upon obstacles prevail!

    The shield of your microphone, the lance of your lens

    You wield mightily, putting right pressure intense

    On enemies of justice and of duty, even in high places,

    So that the meek could breathe free, the country’s face

    Remained unblemished, revealing secret webs and sites

    That nurture corruption, injustice, poverty, prickly plights.

    Each true heart is definitely infinitely indebted to you –

    Let each soul know what’s false, and what’s really true!

    Hail to your pure labor! Hail to your pure search-light!

    Do help usher a new era, to the nation’s pure delight!

    Yield not for a moment to the indomitable adversities,

    O sentries of the country, of its villages, and of its cities!
