I'm scared of tomorrow
So i can't live today
The things that are happening
Just can't be explained

From the friends that i had
Who have kids of their own
To the people i knew
Who since have passed on

It takes a split second
To go back in time
My memories bring me back
To when i was a child

Things I'm confronting
Are bigger than i
I can't come to grip with
It so i sit and cry

Crying does little if anything at all
So i crawl back to my dream world
Of safety and warmth

I abruptly awake only to find
I can't live in the past
There's only the here and the now

Yet i console myself with a poem
I read i say it each night before
I go to bed

"I cried cause i had no shoes till
I met a man with no feet"
In other words i can live with
My ailments whatever they be
Out there somewhere lives
Someone worse off than me

A fear overcomes me but i know
I'll  be fine before i turn out
The lights i put my trust in GOD

The very realism of life is scary to many. You've captured these emotions very well in your poem. The comforting arms of God heals all. Great write.

In God we trust. Yes he is always comforting. Thank you for your message.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
