Again

Only 300 miles away
I found a little part of him
with me.
A single, coarse strand
of white fur--
my precious!   For the first time,
I missed him.
I realized in that moment,
I did not miss the man.

Leaving can be so hard, but we have to trust in our hearts and it seems you did well listening to yours. Beautiful poem! Strong impact in so few words... I would love to see you post more of your work!

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
