Addicted To You

Addicted To You

I wake, sleep, eat, & dream you.
This emotional journey before us
almost too much to bear sometimes.
I try to pull away knowing deep inside
I'm not going anywhere
I try not to call or text but I stare at the phone
Hoping.......you'll call
Every time I hear the ringing of your ringtone,
or see your name pop up online,
That's when I know...
I'm addicted to you.

But it is far more than that,
and please listen very closely.
I am a very reasonable and sane person,
not given to idle whims or fancies,
not taken in any more by false hopes and promises.
Cause I been through it already.
I know the tricks and trades of the game
So when a guy approaches me
I put up my wall of defense
And throw out rule, after rule, after rule
Yet, somehow, you're different...very different.

I don't know what happened, or how or why,
but I feel as though I fell out of a cloud,
tumbling down to earth to a sure death
and at the last possible second,
you caught me in your arms.
They engulf me and protect me
Then your fingers tease me and then please me
I feel you in my sleep so deep inside
So now, as soon as I see you I have to feel you
For I feel I'm gonna go through a withdrawal
If you don't bless me with your sweet lips

Yes...I'm addicted to you,
but I know the consequences of addictions,
and, fear not, I will not harm you
or cause you pain in any way.
Of that, I give you my humble word.
I might stray away but I know
When you speak it sends shivers down my spine
And I already know where I belong
It's right next to you, baby
Molding to your every curve
Drowning in your gaze

I want to breathe you, drink you
I want to feel you, taste you
Make you happy in everyway you've ever dreamed of
I'm that woman to bring those fantasies to reality
To satisfy your every need
Wanna make you wanna go a little deeper
Wanna make you see, I'm a keeper
And when you reach your peak
I wanna hear your soft whispers
against that "spot" on my neck saying
"Lynda, I'm addicted to you."

(And that's that Piece)

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
