I am who I am
Who do you see?
Perhaps a woman of integrity?
Do you judge me for the color of my skin?
Or do you judge me for what is within
Do you know me for me
Or for who you want me to be
God made me unique You wait to critique
I am reaching for you . Can you feel me?
To people I feel as though I have disappeared
life of loneliness is what I have always feared
In the Devils web I feel I’ve been spun
Believing the lies of the enemy have begun
I need you can you hear my heart? I feel torn apart
Are you too busy to feel me? Look very closely can you see me,
Can you see beyond this mask? Is getting to know me a task?
Can you see my pain so deep? I can’t even whisper a peep
it never leaves everyday it remains Walking with a heart so badly stain
Stained with disappointment, guilt and refrain
attached to the night to weak to move to the light
Within their dwells a cry for relief
For Jesus I have strong belief
