A Woman
I am a woman.
I am strong, confident, and beautiful.
I am a Black woman.
Full of pride for my individuality.
Determined not to be oppressed.
Determined not to be held down or held back
By numbers and statistics.
I may not have a supermodel's body.
I am just the right size.
To love, to hold, and to caress.
To be seen as a thing of inner and outer
Beauty that lasts for all time.
I am a woman.
Just the right shade of ebony chocolate.
Not a superwoman.
Just a woman.
Strong, independent, bold, and true.
A child of the Almighty; a daughter of love.
In no way perfect.
Just a woman.
