a thousand failures

a thousand failures

the life of one thousand failures
its all but lost
if worse comes to worse
i hang from this wall
the chains will not break
i can not fall
i want your love
that is all

the crushed dreams
these shatered things
i can not survive
its plain to see

so what is this gleam
this final hope
could it be the last
no pain
so i hope

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
