Open Calls at The Poet's Haven

In addition to the online galleries which are always open to submissions, The Poet's Haven currently has five open submission calls for upcoming print anthologies. The "On Velvet Feet" call for cat-themed work will be closed soon, as that book is nearly complete. (In other words: last call for cat poems!)

"On Velvet Feet"
THEME: CATS
The Poet's Haven is seeking poetry and short stories about cats for an upcoming Poet's Haven Digest publication titled "On Velvet Feet." Poems written from a cat's perspective or viewpoint are highly encouraged. Please note: we are not looking for poems about grieving the loss of a feline companion.
Submissions should be sent to:
PHDcats[AT]PoetsHaven.com

"We Only Come Out at Night"
THEME: VAMPIRES AND WEREWOLVES
The Poet's Haven is seeking poetry and short stories about vampires and werewolves for an upcoming Poet's Haven Digest publication titled "We Only Come Out at Night." We are NOT looking for sparkly teen angst melodrama "vampires." Vampires and were-creatures should be wicked bad-a**. NOTE: Writings set in White Wolf's "Vampire: The Masquerade" role-play game universe are only acceptable so long as they do not reference anything that falls under the game publisher's copyrights and trademarks. "Dracula" is now in public domain, so work utilizing characters from Bram Stoker's novel is acceptable.
Submissions should be sent to:

Title TBD
THEME: ALIENS
The Poet's Haven is seeking poetry and short stories dealing with our world as seen from an extraterrestrial perspective for an upcoming Poet's Haven Digest publication. We are not looking for alien-conspiracy type aliens, but rather work where extraterrestrials are among us, and how our world and culture looks to their alien eyes.
Submissions should be sent to:
PHDaliens[AT]PoetsHaven.com

"The World is a Mess and I Just Need to Rule It"
THEME: VILLAINS
(Title is tentative.) The Poet's Haven is seeking poetry and short stories dealing with villains and super-villains for an upcoming Poet's Haven Digest publication. World domination schemes. Battles with a heroic nemesis. Remember, super-villains usually see themselves as the good guys in their mis-adventures.
Submissions should be sent to:
PHDvillains[AT]PoetsHaven.com

"Darker Than Fiction"
THEME: REAL EVIL
The Poet's Haven is seeking poetry and short stories dealing with real-world evils for an upcoming Poet's Haven Digest publication. Serial killers, terrorists, warlords, you name it. The characters too wicked to be fictional.
Submissions should be sent to:
