THE POETRY OF JLORIAN

Ms. Lorian' s slowly growing anthology of original poems presently contains nine exquisite poems:

Old Mother And The Crow
The First Dance
Graveyard Crows
There Be Witches Among You
Outside The Wind Is Howling
Land's End
A Grave In Derry
Administrative Blues
Fare Thee Well

Although her repertoire is sparse, her versatility cannot be ignored. She posseses the rare genius of easily managing all themes and moods , whether it be Nature, life, death, aspirations or the banalities of everyday life. Her unique forte is her natural skill in weaving monosyllables and disyllables into poetic fabrics of brilliant and intricate patterns , such as of love, as well as weaving dark fabrics of sombre design of sorrow, regret or symbolism. This device naturally and remarkably imparts fluidity, crispness and clarity to her verse.
Her poem. "Fare Thee Well', is a poignant requiem which reflects metaphorical phrases which give a mysterious and poignant flavoring to experiences that are common and familiar property to us all, example , "the bridge is on fire." Utterances . such as , "Will we ever meet again? / None but Time can tell." is profoundly a universal statement that anchors the theme of anquish and finality.
Ms. Lorian handles the device of punch lines or verses that reach out to the heart and by this technique induces her readers to identify themselves with the experiences she declaims . By using this device, she succeeds in getting her readers to sing along or agonize with her. This is a dynamic feature of appeal and sharing of experience in all of her nine poems.
Her metrical and rhyming skill is impeccable. She never seems to depart from her disciplined sryle , yet she manages to give to each poem its own tempo or vitality , vibrancy, mood , rhythm and character.
I can find no imperfections worth mentioning in her art. I look forward to reviewing some of her other works. READ JLORIAN'S POEMS, It's an excellent adventure of many moods and experiences.

Re: THE POETRY OF JLORIAN

There Be Witches Here Among You

is so damm good, that it hurts lol

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
