NOW FOR THE HISTORY POETRY CLASS : REPORT

NOW FOR THE HISTORY POETRY CLASS REPORT ON "tHE ROMANCE OF POCAHONTAS ( Part One)

Hi, OP Friends,

Disappointedly, only three scholarly and advanced poets subscribed to thie thread.

Springsize who is a distant descendant of Pocahontas and Sir John Rolfe, offered an exquisite piece wrought in couplets and iambics, entitled , "THE POCAHONTAS TREE,

John Wordslinger offered a perfect and piquant sonnet entiled: TRUE LOVE KNOWS NO OTHER.

Cousinsoren presented a history poetic narative enttled: THE ROMANCE OF POCAHONTAS.

The number of visits and sagacious commnts is very gratifying.

There seems to be some confusion about the connotation of the word "CLASS:" in the title of this thread. Please note that the word, "CLASS" does not mean a teaching learning situation involving teachers and students. It indicates a type or category of poetry. Now that this misconception has been cleared, we hope many more OP Members will offer poems in the next moot. Thanks.

Please note that this site is non-competitive.. We are invited to post poems so as to see , share with one another, and to enjoy what each of us is inspired, and is able to do.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
